Ad-Aware is an anti-spyware program developed by Lavasoft that detects and removes software on a user's computer that is determined to be spyware or adware. It also detects dialers, trojans, malware, data-mining, aggressive advertising, parasites, browser hijackers and tracking components.

The free version requires you to start the program and scan manually every time you suspect you have spyware on your machine. They try to upsell you their other versions Plus & Pro, these versions gives you real-time protection of spyware.
